The Seventh India Innovation Summit

The Seventh India Innovation Summit was held on 8th and 9th sept 2011, at the Leela, Bangalore. The event witnessed a plethora of Experts, Leaders & Practitioners from different streams. The deliberations were mainly focussed on the concept of “INNOVATION.” The speakers were Mr.Chris Gopalakrishnan from Infosys, Mr.Ajay from 3M, Dr.Praveen from Intel, Mr.Vivek Mansingh, Cisco, Mr.Hein, Srishti, Mr.Shoumik Mukherjee, Yahoo, Mr.Venky from Ingersoll Rand, Dr Vijay and Mr.Anurag Beher from Azim Premji University.
“In India for India” was the mantra. The speakers from the industry emphasised on the following:

  • The future growth of the country depends on innovation
  • The megatrends are creating “Emerging Business models”
  • The key drivers are Data, Media, information, Communication and Technology
  • The companies are innovation centric and focus is on the customer engagement and market centric products.

A quick snapshot of academia was on the following lines:

  • Innovation through colloboation and content sharing
  • Evolving into an innovative society by nurturing the mindsets of the youth
  • Element of thought leadership to be integrated across the curricula
  • The ecosystem should facilitative colloborative tools like technical and social sklills

To sum it up, the two days event focussed on the following points:

  • Challenge driven rather than Capital driven market
  • Creativity driven vs Habitat driven ecosystem
  • Technology as a corporate assest
  • Incubating Innovation in India

The session added a lot of valuable insights to the August gathering.
