ISME, Bangalore arranged an industrial visit to VST Tillers Tractors Ltd. for HR students on 11th January 2012.
It was a wonderful experience for the students to get the real and practical knowledge of HR in an organisation. Mr.B.G.Kodandaram, Deputy General Manager –HRM, had a personal interaction with the students about the labour force in the company, trade unions and problems related to that such as strikes and lock-outs in the company in the past.
TQM objectives for the company focus on the reduction of the wastage of time, improvement of the quality and to create team spirit among the people. The quality policy of the company is minimising product cost while maintaining high quality and reliability. Also this company is very keen on delivering high degree of customer satisfaction.
Sr. Engineer Mr.Subharaj took the students to the tour of the whole premises of the company and to the shop floor and the production sites.
The interactive session at the end of the tour, threw light on the CSR activities of the company that includes health camps, service training camps and schools. The 400 employee workforce is maintained really well by the company and hence attrition rate is very low.
Prof.H.S.Mishra personally escorted the students in this trip and gave a very healthy input in all the discussions between the students and the HR officials of the company.
