Sports Day @ ISME

Nelson Mandela once said that “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair. It is more powerful than government in breaking down racial barriers.” ISME Sports Club brought its students together for the 1st ISME Sports Day for AY15-16 on 21st August 2015 and all that prevailed through the event was sheer enjoyment.
The event begun with the Carrom Competition conducted at the Open-Air Dining Hall. Throughout the league there were supporters for each player cheering at their loudest expression. Each strike, each potting, each miss kept the onlookers on their toes. The excitement reached its climax when the referees used Striking Queen & White Strike to end the game. Finally it was the team of Niranjan & Bharathwho pocketed the winners’ accolade, while team of Vikram & Devsatisfied at runners up. 
At another scene at the ISME Sports Room, the Table Tennis Contest was held. Held in Double Game format, the spectators and supporters could experience a high quality talent among students. In neck-to-neck scoring matches, team of Vikram & Rashid won the finals against the team of Apoorv & Mohit
ISME Sports Club was encouraged to conduct more such events during the year and they sought continued support and encouragement from students.
