NEN E Week India, 2011 at ISME,Bangalore

                   
Asia’s largest campaign to celebrate Entrepreneurship was launched on 5th February,2011 and it saw lakhs of  students come together across the country to build public awareness and support for entrepreneurship . E Week India was led by National Entrepreneurship Network(NEN) and supported by the Wadhwani Foundation . E week continued to focus on India’s opportunities in 2011 . As the country’s economy grows at a break-neck pace, it is poised to unlock a breathtaking range of opportunities from Healthcare to IT to Energy and more . Through its theme ‘Ideas For India’, E Week India 2011 focused attention on making most from these opportunities.


With respect to the same quite a number of interesting and fun with learning activities were carried on at ISME, Bangalore . It helped the entrepreneurial gesture take a new fold in each participant’s mind . The activities helped to inculcate the spark of entrepreneurship in the hearts of each and every member .
The day wise activities at ISME were :

Day I : February 7,2011
The E Week got a kick start with enthusiastic participation from the students and faculty . The meet commenced with a welcome address followed by a short speech by the Guest Speaker Mr. Abhishek from NEN fraternity . He shared  his experiences as to how NEN helped him to gain the insights of entrepreneurship and leadership so that he could build his own startup . He also laid down an entirely new definition of entrepreneurship stating some fantastic examples from his own experiences.  Mr Abhishek  led the group into taking the – E Week India 2011 Pledge. The day came to an end with the screening of the movie “Guru” in the auditorium .
Day II : February 8th,2011
‘The Rs.100 Exercise’ was the agenda for the second day wherein the participants were grouped into teams of seven each and they had to build profits out of an investment of just Rs.100 . Dr. Swaroop Reddy and Prof. Ramesh Puttanna  briefed about the Rs100 exercise to the teams. Students displayed amazing skills of accounting, marketing etc. and came up with Product concepts like Tamarind Rice , Carrot Sweet , Services such as Mehendi , Painting, Laundry and Trading ideas of Paper Bags etc..  Out of the five teams , three teams could make up to the first, second and third position.
  
Day III : February 10th ,2011
Another successful day of the event. Panel Discussions were planned  for the day . Four different topics were allocated to four different panels with respective moderators . The topics included : “ Challenges and Opportunities in : Healthcare / Education / Energy / Waste Management ” . The students came up with innovative ideas to tap the opportunities in these sectors . The results showed that the Waste Management team secured the First Rank .
Day IV : February 11,2011
The last day of the event at ISME was presided over by a Guest Speaker from NEN fraternity Mr. Monujesh Borooah, an entrepreneur in capability building and a partner in Envision Talent Management Pvt. Ltd. , Bangalore. Mr. Borooah is a perfect blend of knowledge and experience . With the help of simple fun learning activities , he expressed the power of Joy ,Influence, Aspirations , Challenges and Achievements .His idea to leverage strengths was inexplicable . The talk instilled a sense of newness and creativity in each one’s mind .
Day V : February 12th , 2011
The last day had a  ‘ Human Chain and Public Awareness Campaign’ which included the use of NEN Posters at Big Bazaar , Hyper City , Cosmos Mall , Forum Value Mall and others. Then it concluded by NEN Grand Finale at the Jyoti Nivas College, Koramangala  where students from all other college joined to celebrate the successful conclusion of NEN E Week 2011.
